Zoolight Safari

Tonight we went to the zoolight safari at the Birmingham zoo with our neighbors the Tingles. There were tons of Christmas lights to look at, a carousal, and lots more. It was cold but the boys and Addison had a great time. Their favorite part was dancing to the lights to music. Bryson called himself a "Christmas ballerina!" I am sad that I didn't get more pictures but my camera decided that it didn't want to work anymore!

Christmas crafts

Not the most creative craft project but the boys had a blast. As you can see Branning got restless at the end and started putting the stickers on himself (and tried eating a few). Bryson was so proud of himself and even put in on the frig and said, " now everybody can see it and they will wuv it!" So cute!

Christmas party at school

Yesterday was the boys last day at school before the getting out for the holidays. They had so much fun at their party. They went on a pretend trip on the Polar Express, visited with Santa and had a book exchange with their friends. The funniest part was when Branning got on Santa's lap and gave him the stare down. Santa said, "I am a little intimidate by this kid, I would be scared not to bring him presents." This is funny because it is so true with Branning, he means business! Both boys had a blast and I think they are finally settling into their new school.

Getting ready for Christmas 2009!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Ours was uneventful but fun. It was great having Amy and Allison home for a few days and the boys loved playing with them.
The weekend after Thanksgiving we put up all the Christmas decorations. I wish I had some pictures of the kids decorating the tree but someone had to save the ornaments from being destroyed. How to you explain to a 18 month old (a very active and independent 18 month old may I had) that thought the ornament looks just like a ball, but you can not throw it. Luckily only one ornament was harmed in the tree decorating this year! Now I spend my days guarding the tree and picking up the ornaments that Branning has slipped pass me. I am hoping the fascination of the tree will wear off soon or it may be a short holiday for the ole' Christmas tree. I did manage to get a few pictures of the boys after the tree was finished. Crazy Boy!

Disney on Ice

This was our second year to go to Disney on Ice. Bryson loved it. He got scared in a few places and didn't know some of the characters but he loved watching them skate on the ice. I had a blast too! He was fun to sing along to songs from movies that I grew up watching. We can't wait to go next year and take Branning too!

Happy Halloween!

We had another great Halloween party this year! We asked each of our friends to bring a dish and bag of candy (and yes we went through ALL 25 bags) and we had a great time visiting and trick or treating. We also had a fire pit and of course two televisions so we wouldn't dare miss any of the football games. We had a great time and can't wait until next year!

Halloween PJs

I walked into Bryson's room to take a picture of the boys in their Halloween jammies and found them watching TV just like this. I thought it was cute!

MDO Halloween party

This was the first holiday day party that the boys have had since they started Mother's Day Out. The Boys rotated from games and moon bounces to making Halloween cards and then to a special snack. They had a great time and it was a good chance for me to meet some of the parents.

Super Savings!

As many of you know I am a stay at home mom now so we have to watch our spending a little more especially when it comes to grocery shopping. I have been attending MOPS (mothers of preschoolers) meetings since I have started staying at home and at the last meeting the speaker talked about couponing. I was so shocked about how much I could save just by clipping coupons and that Publix would take almost any stores coupons even with the buy one get one items. So with the help of the website www.southernsavers.com I tried it for the first time today. I was amazed! We usually spend around $120-$150 for our monthly trip and today I only spent $85! The only thing I didn't get here that I needed was milk and I go to ALDI because it is only 1.49 a gallon. Oh how I love saving money!

Boo at the zoo!

Sunday night we went to Boo at the Zoo. The Birmingham Zoo puts it on every year at Halloween. They have games, hayrides, a train, and lights and painted Halloween cut-outs all over the zoo. You can also go trick or treating and ride the carousel. There was also had a haunted house that was in the snake house which didn't scare Branning a bit but had Bryson and I almost in tears! The worst part was waiting with 2 very impatient children (wonder who they get that from) in the very long lines, but they did seem to have fun once they got through the lines. They loved trick or treating and getting candy in their bags. Each time someone gave Bryson candy he would say "Oh thank you and have a Happy Halloween!" We had a great time and can wait until next year.

Picnic

We decided to enjoy the nice weather today by having a picnic lunch. Bryson loved packing up lunch in a basket and taking it to the driveway. I was feeling bad that we didn't go to a park and have the picnic until Bryson looked at me while he was eating and said, "Mom, this is the best picnic ever! I love you!" That made my day!

Where's Branning?

Branning has started this new game where every time we are about to leave to go somewhere he hides. He thinks it is so funny, which it is because he hides in the same spot every time. Can you find him??

Pumpkin Patch 2009

This Sunday we went to the pumpkin patch. It was much more fun this year since the boys were older. They both loved going on the hayride, riding the train, jumping in the bounce houses, playing games, and face painting. It was so sweet to see Branning follow Bryson everywhere he went at the pumpkin patch. He is really starting to look up to his big brother.

Bubble Trouble

The boys love bubble baths! Branning is still not too sure about having them on his face and of course Bryson's favorite thing to do is to put the bubbles on Branning's face. My favorite part is the fact that bubbles make it easier to get them in the bath!

Zoo Trip!

Today was the first day it hasn't rain in about 2 weeks so the boys and I decided to go to the zoo. They both had so much fun. Bryson loved watching the sea lions eat fish during feeding time and Branning was so cute when he saw the ducks. He just kept saying "Quack, Quack" and pointing. It was a fun day and we hope to go back soon.
